Lewis Pears Draws for ICO English L/C Kickboxing Title - Sittingbourne, KENT

Lewis Pears competed for the English ICO title. In the final over 3 x 2 minute rounds Lewis draw with C.Mellat of CKA. A contraversal decision as Lewis was the most aggressive with great variety hitting a high proportion of kicks and flooring his opponent with sweeps. As the fight was for the ICO English Welterweight title it had to be taken to a fourth round. But 30 seconds into the round a medic was called in due to a bad cut under his right eye over the top of the bone with a suspected fracture. Due to Lewis fighting at the ICO World Championships in 5 weeks in Germany he could not afford for a further split of the cut or do further da,age that could not mend in time he had to withdraw from the fourth round.

A great performance by Lewis even though frustrating as he really should have been awarded the fight over three rounds.
